Wallpaper Samples

Hi!

Hope you are having a good week! I am happy to report that the wallpaper samples for the Powder Room Project have arrived. I was so excited to see the box full of samples on my front porch. Since I picked them out a few weeks ago I didn't fully remember what I had ordered. Needless to say it was a nice surprise to see them all over again. I taped the samples on the walls of the powder room to see how they would look in the space. I narrowed it down to a few and chose from there. I am sad to say that one of the final contenders got used as a holding place for tools and plumbing pipes by my husband so it is not making an appearance today. Here are the samples:

I snapped a few pictures to show you the full pattern of the wallpaper samples.

Please note that the colors in the photo above are the most true-to-life. Refer back as needed.

Here we have a repeating ring pattern. This looks nice but it was a little too busy for the bathroom.

The shells were really pretty but the aqua color was too much. I especially like the shiny gold on this pattern. Alas, the shells and tiles weren't vibing each other.

This wallpaper has a somewhat traditional pattern, but it is fresh and modern with it's shiny blue background. Ms. Blue Shine also didn't make the cut. It is just too bright and didn't coordinate with the green tile.

The Final Contenders (minus one)

The wallpaper below has the right color for the bathroom and even has a really cool feature. Depending on where you are standing the pattern is either a brownish bronze or it is silver. It's like a mirage. I tried my best to capture it for you. Cool huh? I have to admit this one also didn't get chosen. There was nothing "wrong" with it. It just didn't look as good as one of the samples.

The gold swirls. What can I say about them? They are amazing and oh so cool. Just look at it? I wanted it to work so badly because it is amazingly fun wallpaper but unfortunately the gold clashed with the chrome hardware on the vanity.

Here is the true color of the swirly sample.

The winner! This wallpaper has a lovely pattern and the color worked well with the tile. When I put up the samples and analyzed each option this one was "the one". Something about it just works in the space. The color really compliments the tile in the powder room. I also like the pattern.

What do you think? Did I make the right choice?

On a different note.... A little beast running around our house has been very BELLIE!!!!

Exhibit A: The couch I attempted to reupholster. Said couch got a blanket thrown over it to protect the cushions. Obviously I was mistaken in my assumption that a mere blanket could protect these pillows.

I found her nestled in the fluff like a little bird in it's nest. This was one of her Belliest moves to date!

All the samples are from York Coverings

  1. I love the wallpaper! It's also a bit more subtle than the others, so you won't get sick of it.
